HELLO FROM INDIGO ARTISANS HQ!
I know it's well into 2024 but, a very belated Happy New Year everyone!
I have been awol for a while now. Quietly working away in the background whilst struggling a little with health. Hence the radio silence on socials and here. I'm finally feeling a little more myself now so I'm hoping to be updating you more on newness and things I'm working on.
Some of you may know that I've had my little indie business for coming up to 10 years in May. It's been a while since I started binding books and perhaps that's why I've been feeling restless with a need for some change.
I usually set myself a million goals and relish in achieving them but the past couple of years, I haven't managed to do much and it's been frustrating. For 2023 I thought, to hell with all this goal setting BS, life is not a race and I am not competing with anyone. I didn't set myself any goals. I had the most delightful and productive year! I let go of everything and just went with the flow. Really, I needed the break and the opportunity to recharge. I enrolled onto some creative workshops including jewellery making (which I thoroughly enjoyed but realised is not for me because I don't like fire and soldering is hard!)
I ended up doing lots of travel, off the cuff and a little spontaneous and it was just the refreshing change I needed.
I've been thinking lots about where I want to take Indigo Artisans. I've worked on some new products but this year I'm hoping I will be able to create something different and more experimental. You will have to watch this space to see where that leads....
In the meantime, I've just added a new vegan leather to the range. It's a very durable polyester base with an imitation leather grain surface. Currently only in 3 colours, a beautiful Scarlet Red, Forest Green and classic Chocolate Brown. I will see how it's received and perhaps looks at adding more colours in the future.
It's a bit more robust than the Cork Leather so with this one, I'm able to bind a larger number of pages so you can go right up to 144 pages/288 sides, all the way from A7 to A3.
Let me know what you think.
