Our last blog post was all about the biggest journals we make so for this one I decided to write about our small journals and some of the things you can use them for.
A JOURNAL TO DOCUMENT DAILY JOY
A short while ago I was asked to make a custom mini journal for Lucy Joy, an illustrator and artist.
Lucy wanted something small that she could carry around with her daily to document moments of joy every day. Something handy and plain so that she could fill it creatively and she wanted the word 'Joy' hand stitched onto the cover. It was going to be used to document her adventures around her home in Scotland on her bike called 'Thunder' (How cute and what a fab idea!)
Lucy also has a podcast called 'The Joy Filled Cup' which is about finding joy and creativity everyday. Check it out and have a listen, it's so inspiring. Check out how she's used her journal below
MINI TRAVEL JOURNALS
These A7 books also make fabulous mini travel journals. Here's another one that we made for a traveler and artist who wanted her nickname on the the cover:
GRATITUDE JOURNALS: A miniature book to spark joy
During the beginning of lockdown I used this miniature journal to spark a daily moment of joy and capture a moment of gratitude each day. It was such a great way to pause and reflect each day and write down the things that I was grateful for. It's a tiny little thing that can fit into the palm of your hand and it can be custom printed with your choice of prompt. Mine had 'Today I am grateful for:' on each page but you can have your own prompt if you wanted something entirely different. You can check out the various ones that are available here and you can get in touch if you want something that you don't already see listed.
Here's a video of a flip through of this miniature gratitude journal so you can fully appreciate how tiny it is and how it was filled. I managed to do it everyday for 30 days!
If you have some ideas about journals to spark joy, get in touch and let me create something for you to document your daily joy.
