The Herbin Brand was created in Paris in 1670 and celebrate its 350th Anniversary this year so has a long and rich history.
Caroube de Chypre is from The 1670 Inks collection which commemorates the year of the creation of the Jacque Herbin House, right in the heart of Paris. It celebrates the rich and elaborate adventures of Herbin who was a sailor in the 17th Century and the shades of the inks are inspired by the history of his seafaring voyages and the glimmer of far away lands. He was employed by the French East India Company, making many voyages to India and collecting ingredients and formulas for inks on his travels.
The intensely deep colours of the 1670 anniversary inks are all illuminated by fine flecks gold.
